Carl Meyer has raised over $665k for Hire Heroes USA by playing golf

National Account Executive Carl Meyer has raised $665,000 for Hire Heroes USA by playing 1,341 holes of golf

For the last 10 years, Carl Meyer of Hartland, Wisconsin has been playing golf on the Fourth of July. Not with his family or a regular foursome at the club, but as a fundraiser for Hire Heroes USA. Each Fourth of July, Carl tees off right before dawn with the goal of playing at least 100 holes that day.

Ten years later his accomplishments are impressive;

  • Cumulative holes played – 1,341
  • Cumulative funds raised – $665,000 +

Because of Carl’s fundraising, more than 345 veterans have been placed into employment.

I asked Carl why he supported Hire Heroes USA vs. another charity, and he pointed out;

  • Hire Heroes has the highest possible rating from Charity Navigator and GuideStar
  • They are the preeminent charity focusing on military veterans transitioning into the workforce

On October 5 of this year, Hire Heroes USA placed veteran number 20,000, while continuing to reduce the cost per placement, which is now just below $1,000. The funds Carl raised just this year will place 125 Veterans.
