Loving Your Work

“When you start loving what you are learning, it will no longer look like work.  Everything will fall in place after that.  Just fall in love.”  A.K. Raha wrote these words of great wisdom.

The same great wisdom is also true for what we normally describe as “work.”  Imagine the incredible positive change that will occur in your organization when you more effectively lead and personify this life-changing and organization-changing wisdom:

When you start loving your “work,” it will no longer look like “work.”  Everything will fall in place after that.  Just fall in love.

The best leaders help people find “work” and match them with the “work” with which they can fall in love; the best leaders help people find those opportunities with which they can fall in love.

The best leaders create the best organizations, which are filled with inspired people who are in love.  These people are in love with their “work,” their culture, their current and future opportunities; they are in love with their opportunities to serve well and make a difference.

How about you and your leadership?  Are you helping people fall in love with their “work”?  Are you matching people with “work” and opportunities in which are they can fall in love?

This is a great topic for discussion (and improvement) with your direct reports and senior team.  How are you and how is your team doing in this critical area of leadership excellence?

When you start loving your “work,” it will no longer look like “work.”  Everything will fall in place after that.  Just fall in love.
