CommonSpirit Health donates PPE to support COVID-19 response in India

May 14, 2021  –  CommonSpirit Health (Chicago, IL) is donating more than 630,000 surplus pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to support COVID-19 relief efforts in India.

The donation from CommonSpirit will provide much-needed PPE to healthcare workers treating patients with COVID-19. This donation will include masks, gowns, goggles, coveralls, face shields and KN95 face masks.

“We have a moral responsibility to support others as they manage the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said CommonSpirit CEO Lloyd H. Dean. “Globally, this crisis is far from over, and the current situation in India is dire. This donation will supply providers in India with quality PPE so they can more safely care for their patients.”

CommonSpirit will work with Air India and Rotary International to deliver and distribute the surplus equipment.
