CommonSpirit Health names new executive leader for physician enterprise

December 7, 2020  –  CommonSpirit Health announced that Thomas McGinn, MD, MPH has joined the organization as system EVP of Physician Enterprise. Dr. McGinn is assuming the role that was held by Bruce Swartz, who retired November 30.

As system EVP of Physician Enterprise, Dr. McGinn will be responsible for the executive leadership and strategic direction of the Physician Enterprise’s clinical and business operations throughout the 21 states CommonSpirit serves in alignment with the organization’s mission, vision and values.

Dr. McGinn previously was the deputy physician-in-chief and SVP of physician network operations at Northwell Health. While there, he was also the founding chair and professor at the department of medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University/Northwell. Prior to joining Northwell, Dr. McGinn served as chief of the division of general internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

CommonSpirit Health’s Physician Enterprise represents more than 5,800 employed providers, 1,100 ambulatory care sites, and 21 Value-Based Organizations.
