Bellwether League recognizes supply chain professionals
Bellwether League recognized 15 supply chain professionals at its third annual inductee dinner. The non-profit organization’s board of directors recognized the following for their contributions to the healthcare supply chain: Ted Almon, Carter F. Blake, Br. Ned Gerber, George R. Gossett, Frank D. Kilzer, Michael Louviere, Robert Bross Majors, Franklin J. Marshall, Daniel E. Mayworm, Foster G. McGaw, Mark M. McKenna, G. Gilmer Minor III, Curt M. Selquist, Donald G. Soth and Louis Vietti. Bellwether League selects retired and currently active professionals with a minimum of 25 years of exemplary service and leadership performance in supply chain operations that meet its criteria to be publicly recognized.

Innovatix National Meeting held in Dallas
Innovatix held its national meeting in Dallas Sept 22-24. Nearly 400 Innovatix members, exhibitors, and staff attended. Innovatix provides group purchasing and consultative services to a national membership base of non-acute care pharmacy and institutional providers. In conjunction with its GPO partner Premier, Innovatix provides negotiated contract discounts for blood products, capital equipment, facilities management, food, laboratory, medical supply, office supply, brand name and generic pharmaceuticals, service agreements, technology, vaccines, and much more.
In his welcome address, Innovatix president John Sganga said he and Innovatix’s entire staff are committed to exploring the depth and scope of each and every one of its thousands of contracts and sharing that information with customers to maximize their savings.

Novation names McDown to VP, Custom Contracting
Irving, Texas-based Novation announced that Chris McDown has been named vice president, Custom Contracting. In his new role, McDown will have responsibility for the ongoing development, execution and oversight of Novation’s custom contracting strategy. McDown joins Novation with more than 15 years of experience in health care, where he has served in a number of strategic marketing, operational and business development roles for leading global medical technology companies and a nationwide provider of health insurance. With significant leadership experience, he has managed a number of business development and delivery initiatives and key medical device product launches, including the development of BD Medical’s institutional insulin delivery business strategy and the launch of BD’s AutoShield™ Pen Needle. Most recently, McDown held the positions of director of marketing and director of Pricing Strategy & Value Programs, Therapeutic Support System for Kinetic Concepts, Inc. Prior to that, he held positions with BD Medical including Global Institutional Leader, Hospital & Safety and U.S. Institutional Insulin Initiative Leader, Diabetes Care, and Group Product Director and Senior Product Manager, Medical Surgical, Closed IV Catheters. McDown holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New Mexico, a Bachelor of Science degree from Idaho State University, and an Associate of Arts & Science degree from Brigham Young University.
