January 20, 2022 – The White House announced plans to make 400 million N95 masks available for free at pharmacies and community health centers across the U.S. amid the surge of the Omicron variant. The nonsurgical N95 masks will be available late next week with the program fully running by early February. The masks will be sourced from the Strategic National Stockpile. Most of the pharmacies that are part of the federal pharmacy vaccine program will distribute the masks.
