Medline to build $77.5 million distribution center

October 18, 2021  –  Medline announced it will invest $77.5 million to build a new distribution center in Bonner Springs, Kansas.

Medline says it has outgrown its current facility in Kansas City, Missouri and will bring 141 team members to the new distribution center in Bonner Springs, 25 miles southwest of Kansas City. The new facility will also create approximately 350 construction jobs, and another 100 new jobs once the facility fully opens.

The new Bonner Springs distribution center is part of a $500 million Healthcare Resilience Initiative (HRI)  investment in 2021. Medline’s HRI is a national campaign to increase supply-chain efficiencies and reliability while ensuring timely product delivery to healthcare partners.

During the first three years of HRI (2018 to 2020), Medline invested $1.5 billion in new distribution centers, manufacturing capabilities, and information technology (IT) upgrades for an improved ecommerce experience. The effort spanned dozens of Medline divisions, creating 8,500 new jobs at eight new distribution centers and nearly 150 manufacturing expansion projects.
