Mercy Health expands specialty care access in local community

June 17, 2026- Mercy Health announced earlier this month it is expanding access to specialty care services in the Fairborn community, reinforcing its broader strategy to bring more coordinated care closer to patients’ homes.

According to the health system, the expansion includes the relocation of orthopedic services to a new Fairborn Family Medicine satellite location, as well as the addition of neurosurgery and women’s health services. The move is designed to improve convenience for patients while consolidating multiple specialties within a familiar care setting.

Orthopedic services will be provided by Dr. Chris Malone and physician assistant David Comer at the new site, located on Dayton Springfield Road. Neurosurgery services will also begin at the location, with Dr. Michael Verdon seeing patients on a rotating schedule. Women’s health services from Mercy Health – Fairborn Obstetrics and Gynecology are set to begin later in June.

Health system leaders say the expansion reflects a continued commitment to strengthening local access to preventive, routine, and specialty care without requiring patients to travel long distances.

Mercy Health noted that the Fairborn site will operate with a phased rollout of services and providers as it scales up capacity in the region.
