Rural Oklahoma hospital reopens under new ownership

May 4, 2021  –  Southern Plains Medical Center of Garvin County (Pauls Valley, OK) opened last week with the Southern Plains Medical Group (Chickasha, OK) as new owners after the facility shuttered in 2018 under city ownership.

The facility offers X-Rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and an emergency department. The rural hospital plans to start services including surgery, diabetes programs and physical therapy later this summer and expects to offer its full complement of services by the end of the third quarter.

Thirty-five medical workers staff more than 40 patient rooms. The hospital will serve the Pauls Valley and Garvin County communities, which include more than 8,000 individuals of Medicare age, a hospital spokesperson said.
