Study shows that quality of telehealth care jumps 15 percent in 1 year

February 18, 2022 – According to a report from Doximity, patients’ attitudes towards the quality of telehealth care have improved over the past year.

Doximity surveyed 2,000 adults in the United States, half of which suffered from a chronic illness, about their experiences and attitudes towards telehealth. A similar survey was conducted in July 2020, which Doximity compared the most recent survey to.

The “State of Telemedicine Report” found that the share of patients who reported that telehealth provides the same or better quality of care compared with in-person visits rose from 40% in 2020 to 55% in 2021. It rose 28% to 47% among patients without a chronic illness and from 53 percent to 63 percent among patients with a chronic illness.

Additionally, more than 73 percent of respondents said they planned to receive some or all of their care through telehealth after the pandemic.
