July 23, 2021 – UnityPoint Health announced that Doug Watson was selected to serve as SVP and CFO officer of UnityPoint Health.
Watson comes to West Des Moines based UnityPoint Health from the Southwest Division of CommonSpirit Health (Phoenix, AZ).
In his previous role, Watson led financial operations for 15 acute care hospitals as well as an extensive integrated care system that included a $4.4 billion revenue health plan and a network of emergency rooms, ambulatory surgery centers, rehabilitation hospitals and medical groups across a multi-state region.
Watson takes over for Dan Carpenter, who will continue as SVP, planning for UnityPoint Health with a focus on strategy. Watson will oversee finance, revenue cycle, consolidated services and treasury. Additionally, he will support affiliate CEOs and regional finance leaders and work closely with payor innovation leadership.
Watson begins work at UnityPoint Health on August 16, 2021.
