University of Cincinnati changes plan to share student data for COVID-19 vaccinations

April 9, 2021 – The University of Cincinnati (UC) changed its plan to share student data with UC Health following a lawsuit that was filed this week. Three UC students sought a temporary injunction to stop UC from sharing some 46,000 records including social security numbers to UC Health. Vaccination clinics begin April 10. The students sued individually and on behalf of all others for the spring semester who have not expressly, and knowingly, voluntarily, and intelligently, consented to the transfer of their personal data to UC Health.
