Cleveland Clinic promotes two physicians to new international leadership roles

February 15, 2021 – Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH) announced the promotion of two physician leaders who will oversee international operations and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Both positions will be effective March 31, 2021.

Rakesh M. Suri, M.D., D.Phil., will return to Ohio from Abu Dhabi to serve in the newly created role of president of International Operations.

Additionally, Jorge A. Guzman, M.D., MBA, was named CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, the post currently held by Dr. Suri.

Dr. Guzman has served as Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Chief of Staff since 2017. During that time, he has overseen physician recruitment and clinical operations for the 400-bed hospital. Dr. Guzman is a staff physician in the hospital’s Critical Care Institute treating patients in Abu Dhabi, and a staff physician in Cleveland Clinic’s Critical Care department in Ohio.
