November 28, 2023- Seasonal flu activity continues to increase throughout the nation, with a 4.9% increase in positive clinical lab flu tests this week, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Outpatient respiratory illness visits to healthcare providers have also increased by 3.7% this week, with most reported cases of the flu being the influenza A (H1N1) virus, according to the CDC, and 3,296 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the nation with influenza this week.
The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine, and to take preventative measures to prevent illness this respiratory season.
