July 25, 2023 – Walgreens has named Monica Reed, PharmD, as vice president of health centers strategy and operations, where she will oversee the Health Corners clinics.
According to the announcement on Walgreens’ LinkedIn, Dr. Reed will work to enhance the retail, virtual, and in-home healthcare offerings of Walgreens. Before this role, she was the senior vice president of clinical operations at CareCentrix, another Walgreens subsidiary.
In November 2022, Walgreens opened its 100th Health Corners clinic at a store in Califoria. These care sites are staffed by pharmarcists who answer questions about medication, help patients manage ongoing health concerns, and conduct health screenings.
