August 28, 2026- Since stepping into the role of Director of Strategic Sourcing and Value Analysis at VCU Health in January 2025, Andria Davis has focused on strengthening how sourcing decisions are made across the organization.

Davis joined VCU Health in 2022 as Director of Operations, bringing experience in sourcing, value analysis, contracting and purchasing. When a leadership opportunity opened within strategic sourcing and value analysis, she was tapped to lead the function because of her broad supply chain background.

One of the initiatives she’s most excited about is a complete redesign of the organization’s strategic sourcing process. The effort includes refining sourcing events, conflict-of-interest reviews, stakeholder group formation and voting procedures.

At the center of the redesign is a greater emphasis on stakeholder participation. Rather than making decisions independently, the supply chain team is working to engage clinicians, operational leaders and other stakeholders throughout the sourcing process.

“Supply chain doesn’t make these decisions in isolation,” Davis said. “We guide the process, but stakeholders help determine the outcome.”

By increasing transparency and collaboration, Davis hopes to help stakeholders better understand sourcing decisions and become active partners in achieving organizational goals.
